John continually develops and customizes his wealth management approach to align with his clients’ financial goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon. His top priority is forming long-term relationships with his clients through informative communication. He strongly believes that a thorough understanding of his clients’ financial needs allows him to develop an investment strategy unique to his clients’ financial goals. His focus is to develop strategies designed to help high-net-worth individuals build and preserve their wealth.
John has more than 30 years of investment industry experience and joined Stifel as part of the firm’s 2015 acquisition of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, Americas. Prior to joining Barclays, he worked at Morgan Stanley as a Vice President and financial advisor from 2009 to 2013. His early career was at Citigroup Global Markets in the Smith Barney division as a Vice President, financial consultant, and associate from 1994 to 2009.
John earned a B.A. in Economics from University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He holds Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses, as well as life, health, and variable insurance licenses.
Trissa began her financial services career in 2013 and joined Stifel in 2019. Prior to joining Stifel, she worked for Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley’s institutional consulting division, Graystone Consulting. She enjoys building a close rapport with the team’s clients and is dedicated to providing a high level of professional service.
Trissa serves as a primary point of contact for varied family services and liaises with all aspects of institutional wealth management. On an individual level, she quarterbacks communication surrounding the multi-faceted areas of clients’ lives, including investment planning implementation and tax strategy and gifting coordination, to help ensure clients receive a seamless experience. On the institutional side, she works with John to support businesses on a variety of levels, including management teams, donors, and vendors.
Trissa earned a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Sonoma State University. Outside the office, she enjoys hiking and trying new recipes. Both she and her husband, Steven, have traded coasts – they moved from California to the D.C. area in 2015.
